“Thinking Outside the Box” about Juvenile Justice Programs CJ 350 Group Work Assignment Instructor: Dr. Kierkus Date: April 8, 2011 Group members: For this assignment I’d like you to get into 7 groups of approximately 5 students and develop a plan for an original, inventive and effective juvenile justice program. Your program can target any kind of juvenile offenders (or potential offenders) that you want (ages 16 and younger). To complete this group work assignment each of you should: 1. Make sure that you review your notes from the semester, and the relevant textbook chapters carefully (I’ll expect you to draw on class material as you work on this exercise). 2. Go out and find two articles (one should be popular, the other scholarly) that deals with a “novel” and “promising” juvenile justice programs (I’m giving you the class period on Friday, April 8, 2011 to work independently on this). 3.
