4/6/11 The Functional Resume Good for people with too little or too much experience. Ex: If you do not have years of experience, but you have abilities and skills you have learned as a student, volunteer, or through a hobby or sport, the functional resume lets you highlight these strengths and downplay your lack of “real” experience. If a chronological resume would require more than two pages If description of your responsibility in several jobs would be repeating/redundant, a functional resume gives you more latitude in how to organize information.

4/6/11 Functional Resume Focuses on skills, credentials, and accomplishments over the course of all jobs held. Emphasis is on what you did, not when or where you did it. Accomplishments, qualifications and experience are grouped together, to emphasize your experience in specialty areas.
