Position Paper One 25 Points Due March 3, 2010 Situation: You are an executive with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, and have a decision to make. Normally your Caribbean cruises always stop for a day at Labadee, a privately owned beach area on Haiti. You passengers can spend the day lying on the beach, snorkeling, playing beach games and attending the barbeque Royal Caribbean has for them on the beach. You employ around 100 locals at this beach, plus other locals come to the beach whenever a ship is in port in order to try to sell the passengers their local goods. Additionally, there are some day trips passengers can choose to purchase where they travel by buy to other parts of the island. The beach is nowhere near the part of the island affected by the earthquake. The area surrounding the beach is mostly rainforest. Royal Caribbean has been stopping at this beach for more than 30 years. Following the earthquake you and your team debated on whether or not to continue stopping at Labadee.
