The American Red Cross is a non governmental, non profit making organization that is committed to saving lives and easing suffering. The American Red Cross has been around since 1881. It is a primary response organization that serves humanity and helps people by providing relief to victims of disaster, locally and globally. It provides community services that help the needy, emergency social services to the military and their families, collection, processing and distribution of blood, educational programs on health and safety and care giving programs like babysitters. The American Red Cross is no different than any other organization. There are pressures and in the resources and having to assist in so many disasters there is a need for a high level of revenue income.
