Gerald, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People or NAACP, an interracial membership organization, founded in 1909, has been instrumental in improving the legal, educational, and economic lives of many people. When you speak of the NAACP raising funds, they established a reason for that. Goals are set that they want to achieve. During the president election, NAACP wanted to increase the number of colored voters and supply transportation if needed to get them to the voting booth. They had to carefully asses how much money must be raised to achieve the organizations goal (Smith, Bucklin & Associates, Inc., 2000, p. 100).

When you have a realistic goal and it is well defined you will receive support through numerous contributions. One good tool of solicitation that the NAACP uses is solicitation letters, a direct appeal letter on the organization stationary (Smith, Bucklin & Associates, Inc., 2000, p. 118).
