America has always been a morals-run country, from foreign and domestic policy to everyday customs and traditions. In today's society, groups with specific civic values have alot of power over our everyday lives - including religious institutions, schools, and other groups. 2. What about today's society undermines American civic values? The popular media is blamed by many as undermining the civic values of America by glamorizing violence, sex, and illegal activities.

It is important for every large group to have an accepted set of behaviors to adhere to, and civic values are extremely important in keeping America a peaceful place that is safe and appropriate for everyone. 4. Are there penalties for failing to adhere to civic values? Can you give an example? "Blue laws" are laws that regulate moral behavior, and are generally outdated and/or deemed unconstitutional. Quite a few remain on the books, however, such as a law in Pennsylvania that prevents hunting on Sundays....
