Esener Short channel CMOS circuit problems Problem1: In this problem you are asked to estimate the characteristics of a CMOS digital integrated circuit containing 500 million transistors using a present day technology. For simplicity, consider that all of these are identical (thus ignoring differences between n and p channel devices. ..); each has a channel length of 40nm and a width of 0.1um. The power supply voltage is Vdd=1.0V. Assume that the maximum current of the transistors (I on ) is given by 0.8 mA/um*(Vgs-Vt) where Vgs is the gate voltage, which reaches a maximum value of Vdd. Vt is the threshold voltage, which you may take to be 0.25V for the moment.
