Revolution 2 Causes of a Revolution The Seven Years’ War was fought mainly on the European continent between Great Britain and France. The battles fought in North America are known as the French and Indian war; a common mistake made by many is hearing the name “French and Indian War” and assuming it was a war between the French and Indians, this was not the case the French and Indian was also fought between the French and Britain’s just over territories in the new world. The war began in 1754 and concluded when the Treaty of Paris was signed in 1793. The results of the war were in favor of the British, giving them large territorial gains in North America. The policies which the British imposed on the colonist of their new territories and the taxes they enforced to pay for the war eventually led to vexation among the colonies and conclusively resulted in the American Revolution.
