Success of any organization in reaching outline plans depends on groups. Groups represent two or more people who interact together to meet company’s goals (Rue, Byars 2010) From the text we can see that both formal and informal work groups occur. From the perspective of supervisor we can say that this organization has command or functional group that consists of supervisor and his employees, but from Mike’s perspective this is classic example of informal work group where Mike was informal leader. He made a work atmosphere to be between social and professional. On one side this is a normal work atmosphere that comes naturally, where people by performing the job duties interact between each other in terms of making their job easier. But on the other side Informal work groups affect productivity, moral of other employees and success of manager. 1.
