He was the third son of the duke of Burgundy but both sons before him, along with his parents died when he was only five years old. Fleury then became his tutor and later took the power of the government because of the fact that Louis lacked the will to govern. Louis obtained his legal majority at the age of 13 and, under the guidance of Fleury, it was a rather peaceful reign until 1734. In 1734, France was brought into a disputed succession in Poland on behalf of the queen’s father. Which, after the peace of Vienna, lead to France’s eventual decline in strength. In 1743 Fleury died, and there was no one to take his place. Which lead to Louis, in attempt to show power, saying that he’s was going to adopt Louis XIV’s example and become a greater ruler. Unfortunately, Louis lacked the will and intellect to bring the administration
