This past few months our household went through some major expenses, including a wedding, a mission, replacing several household appliances, dental work and back-to- school registration fees. In trying to fit extra costs into a budget, food is one area that allows a little wiggle room. Some of yesteryear's money-saving tactics don't work for me. With gasoline costs as high as they are, it's not feasible to drive to different grocery stores to save 10 cents on a can of tomato sauce. And it takes a math whiz to figure the best value on high-tech toys such as cell phones, Internet and cable TV....
