Kilie Rainey 3/16/2011 BOM Journal #3 Moroni 10:4-5 “And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.” The above scripture is one of my favorites. I can remember one time when I was only twelve years old, about to enter the Young Women’s organization, and having my yearly bishops interview. My bishop asked me boldly to start my personal progress, and to read the Book of Mormon all the way through, and follow the teachings in Moroni 10:4-5. After the interview was over, I remember being excited for the challenge, and most curious as to what Moroni 10:4-5 even said. I can remember how I felt when I went home to read that scripture because I related strongly to Joseph Smith the prophet. My bishop was asking me, to read this book, and to ask God if it was true, just as the missionaries do with their investigators. After reading the scripture, I remember thinking well that was silly of my bishop, he knows that I am already a member, I already know this book is true. Why did he ask me to do this? Even though I had doubts as to why my
