Anthony Ferreira Dr. Amanda Gradisek December 16, 2010 Dear Dr. Amanda Gradisek, This semester we began by reading short essays in the Norton Reader from a numerous amount of authors, showing different kinds of writing styles. After we read an assigned short essay we then typed a one page summary in order to get our writing skills started. As the semester went on, we began learning how to type more complex papers and how to analyze the authors’ work by choosing a side whether to agree with the authors’ points or to oppose the points the author makes. Then for a final five page paper we gathered all the writing techniques to show how our writing has improved. This semester we typed two analysis papers, on the first paper I received a letter grade of a B. The changes I have made are mostly grammatical and rewording awkward sentences. I tend to accidentally make past tense mistakes when writing, not because I don’t know the difference between the two, but when writing I do not always catch my mistakes. As far as
