Why is understanding the health care system at the local level important to consider when planning an
EBP implementation? Conduct research and solicit anecdotal evidence from your course preceptor that
you will take into consideration for your own change project.
A health care system is the organizational structure in which health care is delivered to a
population. The basic goal of nursing is an evidence-based practice (EBP) that promotes quality,
safe, and cost-effective outcomes for patients, families, healthcare providers and the healthcare
system. It is important to consider when planning the applications of EBP that support the local
level’s role is a strong focus in the health care system. It need to adapt evidence-based
information from local level based studies/researches to individual patients’ needs and
preferences along with identify which approaches are most likely to succeed for implementation
of EBP. Local policy interventions, such as the use of evidences, coverage, financial impacts as
well as stakeholders have a significant role on implementation of EBP. As the society becomes
more diverse, with people of color expected to make up over half of the population in 2045, it is
increasingly important to address health disparities (Ubri & Artiga, 2016). The expectations of
society and the goals of healthcare systems are the delivery of quality, safe, cost-effective health
care to patients, families, and communities.
