Affirmative action is a good remedy to make sure companies are hiring women and minorities but as far as promotions that can still be debated. For example in the military it is rare to see a woman serving as a command sergeant major even if they have all the requirements too. I don’t agree with reverse discrimination I believe and employer should be able to hire anyone not just based on their race or gender. I agree with criteria of comparable worth because no matter if it’s a male or female whose doing the job. If the job is completed the same manner the pay should be the same no matter what. My response to this week’s discussion consistent with moral philosophy because it has to do with what’s right and wrong. If someone is discriminated on based on race or gender that is

They should receive the same wages, promotions, and benefits. But, employers shouldnt have to hire someone because they are a female or minority either. Its still a debatable subject whether affirmative action status of today. I believe its still needed to help with discrimination in the work place far as hiring. There are still some loop holes I believe in there to get around with promoting people. Things have improved because of affirmative action and I believe they will keep improving in the future....
