Four Basic Functions There are four basic functions of management controlling, leading, organizing, and planning. I will discuss the four basic functions of management. I will choose the one I believe is the right one for me to manufacture my product. I will also discuss the pros and cons for the function I believe are right for me. I will also discuss the impact that the decision will have on my functions of management. The first function I will be discussing will be controlling. According to Brech, “controlling is a systematic exercise which is called process of checking actual performance against the standards or plans with a view to ensure adequate progress and also recording such experience as is gained as a contribution to possible future needs.” Managers need to pay attention to the cost of versus performance of the organization. A business manger should take reading of his business sales of a constantly to insure that his/her business is on the right course. The controlling function has to basic purposes which are to facilitate co-ordination and it helps in
