Conclusion Lab Unit 08 - Ubiquity of Microorganisms Levine 1 Alexis Levine Dr. Maxwell M/W 19, March 2010 This conclusion must be written as an essay with a word count of 450-750  words. In this conclusion, you are asked to discuss the results of the  ubiquity study. Specific questions and concepts you should address are: 1. Of the samples you and your lab partner studied, did one have more  recoverable viable bacteria than the other? 2. Speculate why one item may have more recoverable viable bacteria than  the other. 3. Why are we referring to your counts as recoverable viable bacteria, and  not simply as bacteria on the item? 4. In regards to the use of the microwave and Lysol, were they effective in  lowering the number of organisms? Give a brief description of the diversity of organisms recovered. In this lab we were to bring in two objects from about the house and study the bacteria after rinsing them ten times with water and a series of dilutions took place.
