Unformatted text preview: The beginning of glow sticks happened about 40 years ago when a man named Edwin Chandross, who was a chemist at a place named Bell Labs, invented the technology used for glow sticks this was a technology that used chemical energy to emit light. This achievement was huge because at that point in time there were only two ways to emit light and those were using electrical power or a battery; these were the ways power was used as an energy source for the emission of light. After that there were many scientists who then took Chandross’ idea and his work and refined the process even more. The patent for Chemical Light Device was registered by a man named Richard Taylor Van Zandt in the US Patents office. There are many uses for glow stick and I will get to a few of them in just a moment. Glow sticks are a onetime use device and they come in many different shapes, colors and sizes. Glow sticks come in plastic tubs that are translucent.
