Use a calculator to solve a system of equations with matrices. A fourth way to solve systems of equations is using matrices. A matrix is simply a way to organize the information. A matrix is organized into rows and columns. The rows are horizontal and the columns are vertical. We describe matrices by their rows and columns. For example, a matrix with 3 rows and 2 columns would be a 3 x 2 matrix. We are going to let the calculator do the math with the matrices, so we will focus solely on how to write a system of equations in matrix form.
