What really happened is that a kidnapping case with possible rape was covered up by a complex story of alien abduction. Though the reasons for this deception are not unclear, the deception itself is more than clear. I figured this out by examining the different aspects of the story that undermine its plausibility: the silly music, shallow dialogue, and overacting characters. Each new source is as unreliable as the last, and the intertwined stories grow in complication,
