ENGL 10600 Assignment Guidelines Weekly Discussion Posts The purpose of the discussion posts is to help you focus your thoughts about our assigned readings and/or other topics in preparation for class. To this end, you will be expected to compose a 200-300 post on Blackboard in the Discussion section once a week, and respond to a peer’s post at least once every two weeks. You will either be asked to respond to an assigned reading(s) or to some question or topic related to a lesson. Please check Blackboard daily; I will post a prompt at least 24 hours before each class and your responses will be due by 9:30 (i.e., before class). Note that I will post prompts three times a week, but you only have to respond to one of these (of your choice). In general I will assign points as follows: 0 = No post submitted; or post submitted more than 24 hours after deadline 4-5 = Post submitted; gives only summary and/or shows little understanding of topic/reading; shows little/no evidence of critical thinking or fails to take the task
