In general terms, write in uppercase means or looks like SHOUTHING. If you must use UPPERCASE, you can use it only to emphasize a particularly important point. One way to add emphasis is to enclose the word/phrase with an asterisk, for example "It is *important* not to shout at people by using UPPERCASE". Large sized fonts (greater than 12) are useful for people with visual impairment, but are not appropriate for general use. 2. Describe the characteristics of chat communications A chat communication refers to any kind of communication over the Internet, but is primarily meant to refer to direct one-on-one chat or text-based group chat (formally also known as synchronous conferencing), using tools such as instant messengers, Internet Relay Chat, talkers and possibly MUDs.
