Case study Hypoactive sexual desire disorder is considered as one of the utmost predominant sexual disorders among women of all the ages and it is also the most difficult to address. According to Kingsberg & Woodard (2015), hypoactive sexual desire disorder can be defined as persistently deficient of sexual desire and fantasy for sexual activity. A. The symptoms of the disorder may include lack or little desire to engage in sexual activity, inability to respond to sexual stimuli and feeling numbness in spite of having a good relationship with partner (Goldstein et al., 2017). B. Pertaining to prevalence, among various female sexual disorders which have been reported studies have shown that distressing sexual problems due to hypoactive sexual desire disorder typically tends to peak during the middle age (Boa, 2014). C. The pathophysiology of this disorder is complex hence the need to be considered in the biopsychosocial context which puts emphasis on the significance of understanding human health and illness by systematically considering psychological, social and biological factors and their multifaceted interactions on health and disorder( Faubion & Rullo, 2015). D. The treatment for this disorder may include counseling approach including cognitive behavior therapy and mindfulness, antidepressant and person-centered integrated approach. II. Case example A. A 43 years old woman named Mary complains about having low sexual desire since the birth of her children who are now aged 10 and 12. Mary describes her
