CheckPoint: Characteristics of Orientalism, Prejudice, and Discrimination The differences between Muslims, and Arabs would be the Arab people are people who are born in a land that relates to Arabian culture. So you could say that Arab is an ethnicity or race. Muslims are people who that relates the teaching of the Islam religion. Therefore, we can say that Arab is a race, and Muslim is a religion. When it comes to the United States has made to policies concerning the treatment of Muslin and Arabic members of Society, is little change at this time in my opinion. One major policy I have read about is giving the F.B.I. agents the ability to consider race and ethnicity before opening an investigation. Also they are able to ask open-ended questions about the activities performed by Muslim. Also, airports have increased their security. Here in Indianapolis they changed out the metal detectors, and they do not let anyone but the passenger’s into the waiting area to board the plane. This will or does help cut down on

I would say an attribute of Orientalism would be things like inscrutability, religious extremism and being backward culturally. The true way to keep down hate crimes against these people would be for Americans to realize they are not all the same. There are some good Arab, and Muslim people just like there are good Americans, and those that do badly.
