After entering what I have had to eat in the past three days in the food diary and comparing it to the food diary of the first three days of week one I have noticed a few changes in the way I eat. In the first week of class I was eating a lot of fast food and not cooking at home. I was also was not eating meals regularly. I would eat one meal a day and snack on things like potato chips and cookies the rest of the day. After entering what I had eaten the first three days of class in the food diary I realized I needed to make some changes and become healthier. Even before I started this class I knew that I needed to do something about my eating habits. I work third shift in an Emergency Room and do not exactly have a regular schedule for anything from sleep to eating. Working in the ER local doctors and nursing homes and sometimes even patients bring in snacks for everyone as a way to say thank you for our services. Having all of those snacks around makes it very difficult not to sit and snack while there is down time at work. When I am not at work I am usually on the go running errands or taking my son to and from school or sports. Because I am in my car a lot of the time it has always been easier to run through a drive through and get something to eat for dinner.
