Lab Report 1: Synthesis of [Co(NH 3 ) 4 CO 3 ]NO 3 and [Co(NH 3 ) 5 Cl]Cl 2 and Kinetic Study of the Aquation of [Co(NH 3 ) 5 Cl]Cl 2 The laboratory report should be in ACS style and include a title page, an abstract, introduction, experimental, results and discussion, and references. Follow the guidelines given in the handouts and course webpage. Items for the results and discussion include the calculation for the product yield (using significant figures), interpretation of the IR spectra and assignment of peaks, interpretation of the UV-Vis spectra (wavelength of maximum absorption, molar absorptivity), interpretation and explanation of the molar conductivities, full interpretation of the kinetics study, absorbance measurements taken during the kinetic run, kinetic plots of data used to determine the rate constants, justification of this plot as a method of obtaining the order of the rate constant and rate law, and proposed mechanism.
