Santa Cruz Market, Santa Barbara,California On November 27, 2009 during a Friday afternoon, I decided to explore a Mexican Market called Santa Cruz Market located in Santa Barbara, California. Known for its fresh produce at a cheap cost, the Santa Cruz Market remains a favorite for locals in search of fresh produce without the cost of their wallets. Recommended by my father, I decided to go to this market and record it as a cultural journal knowing that it would be a whole other experience if compared to a common grocery store. Upon entering, I immediately noticed the stand of packaged spiced fruit such as spiced mangos that I happened to love. To my left, there were the produce all stacked in their own carts looking moderately fresh. Although I have to admit that the produce was not as fresh compared to a common grocery store, they were still perfectly edible. But if one was to compare the prices, the produce found at Santa Cruz Market was substantially less making this market a popular attraction for locals.
