Social Reproduction Theory Why is there a strong tendency for working- class children to end up in working-class jobs? How is the class structure reproduced from one generation to another? How and why the poor are at a decided disadvantage in the scramble for good jobs? 1. strutural: because when you are born in a certain class, you automatically follow the expectations and 2. Reproduction theory: the school as the site where social relations of capitalist society are reproduced. Middle class produce the middle class, the working class, and the poor.
