Model Making OVERVIEW: Models are a supplementary means of checking the graphical description shown on the plan, elevations, and perspectives. They aid in the visualization of the finished appearance of the proposed structure and its rooms arrangements. Usually, models are built to a small scale and incorporate as much detail as possible to achieve a realistic effect. Models have the distinct advantage of showing the completed structure from any angle. A presentation or perspective drawing only shows the building from a single vantage point. Models are the only way the structure may be shown in the third dimension. In the eyes of the client, the model solves many hidden mysteries on the plan. FLOOR PLANS Floor plans are two dimensional (length and width) drawings, which show the location and relationship of the rooms or areas in a building. The design characteristics of a floor plan should ideally demonstrate the functional, the comfortable, and the livable conditions of rooms and their basic relationships
