CHEVROLET VOLT ASSIGNMENT It is generally agreed upon by most authors of marketing strategy textbooks that a marketing strategy is composed of a “target market” and an associated “marketing mix.” The “target market” represents one or more specific groups of potential customers toward which an organization directs its marketing program. A “marketing mix” is the term used to collectively identify the controllable factors – product, price, promotion, and place (distribution/logistics) that are used by marketing managers to organize, plan for, and solve marketing problems and challenges. Chevrolet Motor Division of General Motors, Inc. will, in October 2011, introduce a new line to its current line of Chevrolet products. The Chevrolet Volt will be General Motors first incursion into the electric automobile market. Industry expects and pundits and consumers eagerly await Volt’s introduction.
