SWOT analysis 2 Abstract SWOT analysis studies the company’s strategic position and business environment, it provides an evaluation of the internal and external potential and limitations, it is the vital resource for any company’s records and information. James M. Higgins (1995) states “Innovation is the secret to competitive advantage in today's rapidly changing environment”. Apple takes on the design, advancement and promotion of Macs, iPods, iPhones, iPads and professional software. Apple Inc. has been around since 1977, the company has accomplished great success, by being innovative and determined. There is no way of knowing what will happen to Apple Inc. in the upcoming future, but a SWOT analysis, which measures the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to a business, can help our company propose strategies to take advantage of their vulnerabilities to increase our company's market share.

SWOT analysis 3 SWOT analysis for Apple Inc. Apple inc. is a successful corporation with a very well-known name. They have established themselves by designing and fabricating computers, cell phones, music players, software, and applications in the IT industry. The company has many operations in America, Europe, Japan and Asia-Pacific, and earns more than half of there sales from their operations outside of the US (Hoover.com, 2011). The corporation’s most important segments are Consumer electronics, PC, and PC software. The SWOT analysis of the company is given below: Strengths Apple’s iPod sales boosted the company’s earnings. IPod allows Apple Inc. to access new sectors that purchase other items of the Apple brand. The Apple notebook sales are high also, and each sale represents a large input to the company’s earnings. Apple has proven it to their competitors and themselves that they are one of the best IT brands in the IT industry, establishing faithful and passionate consumers that support the brand. Apple not only has loyal customers, but when they recruit new customers, they retain them. There products are simple to use with a sleek design, well-known brand, dependable, reasonably priced, high market share. Steve Jobs CEO of Apple Inc. is known to be a visionaire and compelling, his products may not create the market, however his product sets great values for the market.
