1 Create a Scatter Diagram in Excel 2010 In various illustrations which follow, specific variable names and Excel cell references are used only as examples. For the take-home assignment, you must use the variable names and the Excel cell references which correspond to the Excel file which you created. Example: Create a scatter diagram for Units Sold on the vertical axis (i.e., Y-axis) and Linear Shelf Space on the horizontal axis (i.e., X-axis). To start : Go to the worksheet with the data. Open the Charts group by clicking on the Insert menu tab . Step1: Select a cell outside of the data (for example cell “J2”) before selecting the chart type. This starts the chart design without any data selected (and simplifies the process). Select the “ Insert menu tab . Click on cell “J2” to select it.
