Systems investigation: - different users (staff, flower shops and customers) should have been consulted - could have used survey, focus groups (flower shops and buyers) - consider technical, operational feasibility - cost-benefit analysis should be conducted at high level - identified needs should include improvements to customer service and to business processes with flower shops - should identify risks and potential negative impacts of the system - if the systems investigation results in approval of the project to proceed, then the company should assign a sponsor: - someone committed to the system and knowledgeable of existing procedures should be appointed - should consider assigning a key business partner as a sponsor for flower shops - could include formation of project steering committee
