Big Brother at Proctor & Gamble.
P&G had the right to investigate their employees in order to find the source of a
suspected leak. Representation is their right. This applies to most employees with only a
few expectations. Finding the answers during their investigations should lead to
disciplinary actions or employment termination. There are some secrets that the company
has the right to protect. Some secrets are not included such as laws broken or customer
related issues.
Because P&G has the right to investigate their employees in order to find the
source of suspected leak, there are still limits to the steps that they can take. If P&G had
searched there company’s phone records would be okay, but confining their search to the
home phone records of P&G employees will be too much.
