Developing Leaders at UPS. 1. What are the major skills Jovita Carranza has demonstrated in her career at UPS that have made her a successful leader? “Carranza’s corporate achievements, determination, drive, innovation, and leadership in business have earned her the distinction of being named Hispanic Business Magazine’s Woman of the Year.” (Hughes, 2009) Carranza also mentions that she developed teamwork and commitment working with UPS. She was able to point out that the noticed that the organization “values diversity, encourages quality, integrity, commitment, fairness, loyalty, and social responsibility, among other values.” Because Carranza could recognize this in UPS she followed their values and ethics, which made her, become a successful leader. Carranza knew what to look for to make a successful organization. She wanted to develop teamwork and interactions during development. Being employed for over 30 years helped contribute to the success of Carranza, becoming a leader. Carranza
