San Diego Community College District Course description of Political Science 102 -  From the Miramar College Catalogue. The American Political System 3 hours lecture, 3 units Letter Grade or Pass/No Pass Option Advisory: English 48 and English 49, each with a grade of "C" or better, or equivalent, or Assessment Skill Levels R5 and W5. This comprehensive survey course, designed for students intending to transfer to a four-year college or university, provides an in depth study of the American political system. Both national and California experiences are studied from the perspective of constitutional frameworks, institutions, issues, and policies. Political Science 102 is required for completion of the major in political science. Political Science 102 may be offered in a self-paced format.
