Financial Reporting Objectives (Key Concept) A list of objectives and questions that a potential investor might ask Provide information for decision making o Based on the financial information, should I buy shares of stock in this  company? Reflect  prospective  cash receipts to investors and creditors o How much cash will I receive in dividends each year and from the sale of  stock of this company in the future? Reflect  prospective  cash flows to the business o After paying its suppliers and employees and meeting all of its other  obligations, how much cash will this company  take in during the time I own  their stock? Reflect resources and claims to resources o How much has this company invested in new plant and equipment?
