Creation in 2:4b025: picture of harmonious relations between -humans and the earth -male and female sexes -humans and Jahweh 1. The man (adam), vv. 4b-17 Formed from the dirt of the earth (‘adamah) Word play: a man= an ‘adam from the ‘adamah. Vocation of the man: “till the earth.” Status before Jahweh: limited freedom; obedience required 2. The woman (‘ishah), vv. 18-25.
