Critique a newspaper or a magazine advertisement based on the checklist, “what works best in print.” Give the ad a grade for each of the points and explain why you assigned that grade. What is your overall evaluation of the print ad? I took my local “Manney's Shopper' to evaluate for this question. It's a newspaper created all for the ads and the classifieds. On the front of the page, the full page. It's a Slumberland furniture clearance ad. -Use Simple Layout A – Bold, large font is used to capture our attention with no clutter on the page, very simple. -Always put a caption under a photograph A- they show pictures of the furniture on clearance, with a description and price underneath every picture. -Don't be afraid of long copy B- It's pretty self explanatory, high priced furniture is being marked down due to their clearance sale because they are going out of business. They did not use much for long copy to explain that though.
