People, Information, and Information Technology work together in unison to achieve business success. Identify four different departments in a typical business and explain how technology helps them to work together. Accounting; Finance; Sales; Marketing; Human Resources; Operations Management; MIS Various departments gather data, translate it to information using business intelligence to gather, apply, and translate these things. CIO: Oversees all uses of IT and its alignment with business goals CTO: Oversees the efficiency of IT, makes sure it is up to par CPO: Ensures ethical and legal use of IT CKO: responsible for collecting, maintaining, and distributing the organization’s knowledge Explain the gap between IT people and business people and the primary reason this gap exists. IT people and business people have their own separate culture from each other that prevents understanding how both are crucial to business success, each one thinks they know better or are better than the other Define the relationship between security and ethics. Ethics: principles and standards that guide our behavior toward other people
