Laboratory no. 3 Router Modes and Configuration This laboratory will introduce you to Cisco CLI (Command Line Interface) present the various router modes, how to reach them and what is possible to do in each of them expose you to the existing configuration of the router and it's partial understanding This lab is preparing you for the next one, when you will do real configuration. The time allocated for Part1 and Part2 is 40 minutes each and they will be executed alternatively by every two groups of students connected to the same router. Part1 Using HyperTerminal, connect to your router by telnet. Login – enter the password when prompted. You are now in the User EXEC Mode, with the least possible rights. Enter the help by typing ? List 8 available commands from the router's response. Try to pick ones that might be more used. To exit, use logout . User EXEC Mode command examples 1. 5. 2. 6. 3. 7. 4. 8. Enter now the PRIVILEGED EXEC MODE by typing the enable command. During the lab you will receive the necessary password. Note the change in the router's prompt! Enter the help by typing
