[4] (5pts) Derive the Zeeman and anomalous Zeeman splitting. [5] (5pts) Write the term symbols of the ground states for the following species. (a) O 2 2+ , (b) O 2 , (c) O 2 - , (d) N 2 - , (e) N 2 2+ [6] (6+4=10pts) Answer the following questions. (i) Three degenerate 2p orbitals are split in the presence of B field [(e/2mc)B L]. Then, it will split into p + , p 0 , p_, where p ± =p x ± ip y . Draw these orbitals.
