Position of Coast with respect to Plate Boundary a-Middle of Plate b-Edge of Plate 2. If Middle of Plate, what’s on Opposite Side? 3. Age of Coast 4. Exposure of Coast to Open-Ocean Processes 1. Position of Coast with respect to Plate Boundary a. Middle of Plate examples: E. & W. Africa b. Edge of Plate examples: West Coast No. & So. America 2. If Middle of Plate, What’s on Opposite Side? * Note different between East & West Coasts of Africa and East Coasts of No & So America Gulf of California Baja California began separating from Mainland Mexico about 25-30 my ago Gulf of California 3.
