Meditation Meditation • Sit comfortably consciously relax all your muscles from the bottom of your feet to the top of your head, and close your eyes. Adopt a calm, passive attitude. Breathe slowly and deeply. • Try not to think about all the things that are on your mind. Stop your “internal dialogue.” Stop thinking in words. Don’t make plans. Don’t recall memories. • To help you stop thinking and to help you calm down, silently repeat a word or phrase to yourself. This is called a  mantra . Make it a calming  mantra • Don’t be concerned when thoughts intrude, because they inevitably will.  • When you finish, sit quietly for a minute or two, and try to merge your calms state of mind with your normal non-meditative outlook.
