Getting Prepared for 2 Getting Preparation for Education In undergraduate school, Francis Marion University (FMU) offered an introduction to college life course titled University 101. This course help students to become familiar with campus activities and groups, administrative buildings, classroom locations, and college degrees and curriculums offered at FMU. A similar course at the University of Phoenix (2008) titled Quantitative Reasoning for Business (QRB) course combines various “skills with the managerial competencies” (2008, p. 2) to educate the students to become better achievers. Fred Johnson hopes the QRB course will be helpful in preparing him for his business curriculum at the University of Phoenix just as University 101 was critical in his success at FMU. Dr. Suzanne Cherry, instructor of the Management 521 at the University of Phoenix, gave her class a QRB quiz to test the students’ retained knowledge of the
