United Nations S/2008/379Security Council Distr.: General 10 June 2008 Original: English 08-37556 (E) 190608 *0837556* Letter dated 10 June 2008 from the Chairman of the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1373 (2001) concerning counter-terrorism addressed to the President of the Security Council I have the honour to refer to Security Council resolution 1805 (2008), and am pleased to submit herewith the report of the Counter-Terrorism Committee on the implementation of resolution 1373 (2001) to the Security Council for its consideration. The report was prepared for the Committee by the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate. It provides an assessment of the implementation of resolution 1373 (2001) in regions and subregions, and draws conclusions about progress in the implementation of the resolution in key thematic areas. The report contains priority recommendations for future action by the Committee, which highlight the main concerns with regard to the implementation of resolution 1373 (2001) and serve as a planning and priority-setting tool for the Committee and the Security Council. The report is based on information available as at October 2007. In accordance with the request of the Council, the Executive Directorate will prepare an updated version of the report as new information is received from Member States. I would be grateful if the present letter and the attached report could be circulated as a document of the Security Council.
