Machine Design Course Objectives To cover the basics of machine design, including the design process, engineering mechanics and materials, failure prevention under static and variable loading, and characteristics of the principal types of mechanical elements such as gears, shafts, bearings, springs, brakes, skews and fasteners. Prerequisites ENGR 3270U, Kinematics and Dynamics of Machines ENGR 2420U, Solid Mechanics ENGR 2310U, Concurrent Engineering and Design
