Brittney Bryson January 7, 2011 XBIS219 Week 1-Checkpoint: The information systems Business and organizations need bold ways to improve and gain advantages over there competitors. In order for a company to be aggressive, they need to have the technology, business systems and good management to be able to strive and beat out the competitors. It is essential for an organization or business to accomplish high goals. Many of these companies use information software to help them run there business operations. Marketing software helps create catalogs, manage marketing projects and, segment customer databases. The type of work marketing departments perform are analyzing, planning, producing and, measuring. Analyzing important information includes reviewing information from the trends and past history of sales, researching the markets, review of sales revenues and prices, competitive intelligence, focus groups and surveys. Planning includes the creation, review and commitment to allocating certain budgets and people to work on key
