Question 1 Explain what is meant by the term “SMAC stack” and why each element within the stack is considered important to business systems management. Your answer should consider the business impact of each item – what is the benefit, but also what is the cost or outcome of not adapting. SMAC means Social, Mobile, Analytics and Cloud. It is an upcoming business model for many organizations. SMAC is based on the concept of four fusion technologies, namely social, mobile, analytics and cloud. Together, this technology creates an ecosystem that enhances the company's IT architecture. Although, each of these components was developed separately, companies began to consider it and called the SMAC stack. The first element is mobile. Mobile is a way in which people communicate, do the shopping and to work using a platform and new technologies. The mobile devices are also enabling to communicate faster as there are more smartphone and tablets. This would lead to a raise in the productivity and efficiency. It means that it is the use of a network of remote server on the internet to manage, process data and to store. Cloud technology offers the latest approach to use the technology. Data companies need to act rapidly to market developments and resolve the business problems. This opens new ways to construct the infrastructure, platforms and services. For example, Amazon Web Services is a major intruder in this space ("What is SMAC (social, mobile, analytics and cloud)? - Definition from WhatIs.com", 2019). Also, cloud technology is the key to the SMAC stack. In the future, it will be the heart of consumerism and business for consumers and customers. More particularly, cloud technology enables more direct demand, supply and consumption of provider services. The main benefit for businesses is to avoid buying costly system, hardware, and software in trade for remote data and software. Workers work more efficiently, and
