(read #3) Horror movies protect society in a way that embeds in our brains that it’s expected. For example, when you go into a dark alley, you automatically think something bad or scary will happen. (read#4) We agree with King’s observation of portraying fear to show our bravery. In our society, especially around Halloween, many people dress up as “scary” or “evil” characters to scare children. (read #1) Evidence 1. It urges us to put away our more civilized and adult penchant for analysis and to become children again. a. This show that along with adults dressing up for Halloween, the text proves that dressing up isn’t just for children. 2. When we pay our four or five bucks and seat ourselves at tenth-row center in a theater showing a horror movie, we are daring the nightmare. Why? Some of the reasons are simple and obvious.
